Das Anfahren am Berg wird realisiert über eine Kombination aus Beschleunigungsregelung und Zugkraftregelung. Die Beschleunigungsregelung dient dazu, die Zugkraftvorgabe an die Antriebssteuerung entsprechend zu bewerten, d.h. gegebenenfalls zu reduzieren. Unabhängig davon erfolgt die Vorgabe der Zugkraft an die Antriebssteuerung über Rampen entsprechend den Anforderungen zur Ruckbegrenzung.
