Die Erfindung betrifft die Verwendung von Bärentraubenblätter(Arctostaphylos uva ursi, AU)-, Birkenblätter(Betula, BP)-, Schachtelhalmkraut(Equisetum, EM)- und Brennessel(Urtica, UD)-Extrakten, insbesondere Trockenextrakten aus der frischen oder getrockneten Pflanze zur Herstellung von Arzneimitteln zur Behandlung oder Prävention (Protektion) von strahlen- (Radioprävention, -protektion), infektions-(Infektionsprophylaxe) und chemisch bedingten Organ- und Gewebeschädigungen (Chemoprävention, -protektion) insbesondere des O-MALT-Systems des Dünndarms (entzündliche Erkrankungen, Enteritis regionalis Crohn), der Lunge (Entzündung, Erkrankung), der Bronchien und des Nasen-Rachenraums (Rhino-Pharyngo-Bronchitis, Rhinitis, Pharyngitis, Sinusitis), des Knochenmarks (Knochenmarkaplasie), des Thymus Dysfunktion, Aplasie oder Hypoplasie infolge medikamenten- oder strahlenbedingter Schädigung), der Leber (Athropie, Nekrose), Hepatitis A, B und C, der Bauchspeicheldrüse, Insuffizienz der exokrinen, sekretorischen Funktion von Proteasen, Esterasen, Carbohydrasen und Nukleasen sowie der endokrinen Funktionsstörung des Kohlenhydratstoffwechsels (Langerhanssche Inseln) und der Nieren (Insuffizienz) sowie von allgemein immunsuprimierten Zuständen, zur zellulären Immunstimulation, zur Therapie von Leukozytopenie, Granulozytopenie, Lymphozytopenie, Thrombozytopenie, Erythrozytopenie (Infekt-, Tumoranämie u.a.) und bei Immunglobulin-Mangelzuständen, auch infolge von AIDS, Tumoren und Erkrankungen mit supprimiertem Immunsystem.
