Atomkraft

Deutschland hat entschieden, aus der Atomkraft auszusteigen. Stufenweise werden in den kommenden Jahren alle 17 Atomkraftwerke endgültig stillgelegt. Der Prozess der Abschaltung ist bereits angelaufen. Von Politik und Wirtschaft wird die Strategie des kompletten Rückbaus der Atomkraftwerke propagiert. Die Demontage von Atomkraftwerken ist eine äußerst aufwendige und kostenintensive Arbeit. Viele der Bauteile sind hochgradig verstrahlt und müssen besonders behandelt werden. Bis alle Strukturen eines Kraftwerks abgerissen, dekontaminiert und entsorgt sind, können Jahrzehnte vergehen und Kosten von hunderten Millionen Euro entstehen. Der Idealzustand nach Abschluss aller Arbeiten soll die „Grüne Wiese“ sein. Jegliche physischen Hinweise auf die Existenz eines Kraftwerks wären damit beseitigt.

Political and economic strategy of the complete decommissioning of nuclear power plants will be propagated. The dismantling of nuclear power plants is an extremely complex and costly work. Many of the components are highly contaminated and need special treatment. Until all the structures of a power station demolished, decontaminated and disposed of, can incur costs and decades pass by hundreds of millions of euros. The ideal state after completion of all work should be the "green field". Any physical evidence of the existence of a power plant would be eliminated.

Aber auch wir in Europa sind nicht wesentlich besser, wenn wir jetzt wieder Atomkraft als Kyoto-freundliche Alternative anpreisen.

We here in Europe, though, are doing little better than they are if we now go back to singing the praises of nuclear power as an alternative compatible with Kyoto.
