Antriebs- und Bremseinrichtung für eine Bügelmaschine in Karussellform, bei der ein durch Umsteuern eines Antriebsfluids (P) hin- und herbewegbarer Kolben (20) eines Antriebszylinders (1) eine Drehbühne intermitierend antreibt, und bei der eine Bremsvorrichtung vorhanden ist, welche die vom Antriebszylinder beschleunigte Drehbühne vor Erreichen einer Bearbeitungsposition verzögert, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Bremsvorrichtung ein passiver, mit dem Antriebszylinder gekoppelter Bremszylinder (2) ist, der im einen Totpunktbereich (11) seines Kolbens (21) direkt an eine Fluiddruckquelle (P) und im anderen Totpunktbereich (12) über eine in Gegenrichtung zur Fluiddruckquelle (P) wirkende Drossel (6) und ein Magnetventil (7), das über einen vom Kolben der Bremsvorrichtung vor Erreichen des oberen Totpunkts (12) betätigbaren Schalter (16) vom Durchlaßzustand in einen Sperrzustand umsteuerbar ist, an die Fluiddruckquelle (P) angeschlossen ist.

Driving and braking device for a rotary ironing machine, in which a piston (20) of a driving cylinder (1), it being possible to move said piston backwards and forwards by switching over a driving fluid (P), intermittently drives a rotary table, and in which there is a braking appliance which retards the rotary table, accelerated by the driving cylinder, before it reaches a working position, characterized in that the braking appliance is a passive braking cylinder (2) which is coupled with the driving cylinder and is connected, in one dead centre region (11) of its piston (21), directly to a fluid pressure source (P) and, in the other dead centre region (12), is connected to the fluid pressure source (P) via a restrictor (6) acting in the opposite direction to the fluid pressure source (P) and via a solenoid valve (7) which can be switched over from the open state to a blocking state by means of a switch (16) actuable by the piston of the braking appliance before the top dead centre (12) is reached.
