In Industrie und Gewerbe sind BHKW-Anlagen eine etablierte Technologie und werden seit Jahrzehnten erfolgreich eingesetzt. Das Erdgas-Blockheizkraftwerk (BHKW) erzeugt Wärme und stellt gleichzeitig Strom bereit – dezentral und direkt vor Ort. Dieses Verfahren ist äußerst effizient, da etwa 90% der eingesetzten Energie als Strom oder Wärme genutzt werden können. Und dabei benötigt ein Erdgas-BHKW für die Erzeugung ca. ein Drittel weniger Primärenergie. Damit sind diese Effizienzkünstler der konventionellen Erzeugung von Wärme und Strom weit überlegen.
