Es gab auch Probleme mit der Briefwahl. Die entsprechenden Unterlagen wurden am Donnerstag an die Armee im Kongo geschickt und kehrten auf wundersame Weise am Sonnabend zurück, natürlich alle zugunsten zahlreicher Wahlbezirke mit knapper Stimmenmehrheit.
