Verfahren zur Verbesserung der Korrosionsbeständigkeit von Kühlern aus Kupfer und Kupferlegierungen, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß diese Kühler nach dem Zusammenbau und Verlöten ihrer Bestandteile folgenden Arbeitsgängen unterzogen werden: Kaltwäsche; Entfettung; Abspülen mit kaltem Wasser; Abspülen mit vollentsalztem Wasser; schichtbildende Phosphatierung der Oberfläche (wahlweise unter Einsatz elektrolytischer Mittel) mit einer Lösung, die neben vollentsalztem Wasser Phosphorsäure oder deren Derivate, Chromsäure oder deren Salze, ein Mittel zur Reduktion sechswertigen Chroms zu dreiwertigem Chrom sowie Polymerharz umfaßt; Entfernung des Überschusses dieser schichtbildenden Phosphatierungslösung; Preßfixierung der Wasserkästen; Aufbringung eines Pulverlacks; Einbrennen dieser Lackierung.

A process for improving the corrosion resistance of copper and copper alloy radiators, characterized by the fact that the radiators, after assembly and brazing of the components, are subjected to the following operations: cold washing; de-greasing; rinsing with cold water; rinsing with demineralized water; filmogenous phosphatation of the surface, optionally using electrolytic means, with a solution in demineralized water comprising phosphoric acid or derivatives thereof, chromic acid or salts thereof, an agent to reduce the hexavalent chrome to trivalent chrome and polymeric resin; removal of the excess of said filmogenous phosphatation solution; drying; clamping of headers; application of powdered paint; and paint cooking.
