In Cavalese flog ein amerikanisches Militärflugzeug- wahrscheinlich aufgrund eines von seiner Besatzung aufgenommenen joy riding- mit Wahnsinnsgeschwindigkeit wenige Meter über dem Boden in ein Wintersportgebiet und durchtrennte dabei die Kabel einer Drahtseilbahn, wodurch die Kabine mit ihren Insassen in die Tiefe stürzte und am Boden zerschellte.

In Cavalese, a US military aircraft, probably involved in a crazy game played by its occupants, flew at a foolish speed several metres from the ground, in a region used for sports tourism, and, in so doing, cut the cables of a cableway, causing the cabin and its unfortunate occupants to crash to the ground.
