Im Rahmen des Projekts Stuttgart 21 soll der heutige Stuttgarter Kopfbahnhof in einen leistungsfähigeren Durchgangsbahnhof umgebaut werden.

Stuttgart Hauptbahnhof is to be rebuilt as a through station in the course of the—disputed—"Stuttgart 21" project.

Es wurde schon jetzt vermutet, dass für die Zukunft ein Durchgangsbahnhof geeigneter wäre.
