Das entspricht etwa dem 30-fachen des Erddurchmessers. Ganz analog zur Erdbahn um die Sonne wird auch bei der Mondbahn die Verbindungslinie von Apogäum und Perigäum Apsidenlinie genannt.

Betrachtet man die Mondbewegung im gleichen Koordinatensystem wie die Erdbewegung, d.h. heliozentrisch, dann bewegt sich der Mond auf einer um die Erdbahn pendelnden Bahn um die Sonne.
