Die vieldiskutierte Inszenierung wurde beim ersten Public Viewing der Bayreuther Festspiele im Jahre 2008 innerhalb der Siemens Festspielnacht auf dem Bayreuther Festplatz von 40.000 Menschen mitverfolgt und ist erstmals in der Geschichte der Festspiele als Live-Aufzeichnung mit allen Zuschauerreaktionen auf DVD erschienen.

The first public viewing of the much-discussed production was watched by 40,000 people at the Bayreuth Festival in 2008 within the Siemens Festival Night at the Bayreuth Festival space and was the first live recording with all audience reactions to be published on DVD in the history of the Festival.
