Das Festspielhaus ist ein Veranstaltungsort der Sonderklasse: Neben den Bregenzer Festspielen sind hier weitere hochkarätige Events wie der Bregenzer Frühling mit dem Schwerpunkt zeitgenössischer Tanz zu Gast, dazu Meisterkonzerte, Musical-Produktionen (Grease, All you need is love…) und Top-Stars der Popmusik wie beispielsweise Sir Elton John. Außerdem hat sich das Festspielhaus international einen hervorragenden Namen als Austragungsort von Kongressen gemacht, wie zahlreiche Auszeichnungen beweisen.

Umberto Giordanos Oper „André Chénier“ ist als Spiel auf dem See zu sehen, dazu – als Uraufführung – die Oper „Solaris“ von Detlef Glanert im Festspielhaus. In den Jahren 2013 und 2014 folgt Mozarts „Zauberflöte“ auf der Seebühne. Die Wiener Symphoniker sind die „Hausmusiker“ der Bregenzer Festspiele

Dafür sorgt nicht nur die Opernproduktion selbst, sondern auch das James-Bond-Abenteuer „Ein Quantum Trost“ sowie das ZDF-EM-Studio in dieser Kulisse
