Um so besser also, daß ich als letzter spreche, denn ich halte den Vorschlag der Kommission für gut und betrachte den Einsatz unseres Berichterstatters, der sich mehr als Diplomat denn als Agrarfachmann engagiert hat, als lobenswert, obschon ich kein Freudenfeuer für diese Reform und für das Ergebnis dieser Arbeit anzünden kann.

Thank goodness I am, as I said, the last speaker: yes indeed, because I think that the Commission proposal is a sound one, I think the rapporteur has shown admirable zeal- taking the diplomatic rather than the technical approach- and yet, for me, the reform and the outcome of this work are something of a hollow victory.
