National Galerie Die National Galerie ist ein Kunstmuseum in London.Sie befindet sich am nördlichsten Ende des Trafalger Square und gilt als eine der umfassendsten und bedeutesten Gemäldegalerien der Welt.Die hier ausgestellte,staatliche Gemäldesammlung umfasst rund 2300 Werke vom 13.bis 19. Jahrhundert. Der Eintritt zur Gemäldeausstellung ist frei. Die Gebäude am Trafalger Square wurde 1937 von WILLIAM WILKINS errichtet. Er hatte dabei die Säulen des Protikus des zerstörten Carlton House in die Fassade integriert.Während ursprünglich geplant war,auch die Kunstakademie ( Royal Academy of arts ) mit unterzubringen,erwies sich das Gebäude als zu klein,sodass die Royal Academy 1968 in das BURLINGTON HOUSE umziehen musste.

 The building in Trafalgar Square was built in 1937 by WILLIAM WILKINS.

 the Royal Academy of 1968 had to move to BURLINGTON HOUSE.
