Gestirn

Tag und Nacht ist dein; du machst, daß Sonne und Gestirn ihren gewissen Lauf haben.

Vor einigen Jahren erschien die erste DVD des Rilke-Projekts, auf der Nina Hagen das Gedicht "Wie das Gestirn, der Mond, erhaben, voll Anlass" vor musikalischem Hintergrund rezitierte. Ich bin auf diesen Sachverhalt gestoßen, als ich mich fragte, warum Skafte Kuhn immer wieder Klassiker aus Literatur und Theater aufnimmt, diese mit der Populärkultur und den heutigen künstlerischen Ausdrucksformen verbindet und damit aktualisiert.

Several years ago, the first DVD of the Rilke Project appeared, which featured Nina Hagen reciting the poem "Wie das Gestirn, der Mond, erhaben, voll Anlass (Like the stars, the moon, sublime, purposeful)" to music. I came upon it when asking myself why Skafte Kuhn repeatedly takes up classics from literature and theatre, combines them with popular culture and today’s artistic modes of expression and thus updates them.
