Also wandelte Salomo Asthoreth, der Göttin derer von Sidon, nach und Milkom, dem Greuel der Ammoniter.

For Solomon went after Ashtoreth the goddess of the Zidonians, and after Milcom the abomination of the Ammonites.

und an ihrer Stirn geschrieben einen Namen, ein Geheimnis: Die große Babylon, die Mutter der Hurerei und aller Greuel auf Erden.

And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.

Sie haben einen Greuel an mir und machen sich ferne von mir und scheuen sich nicht, vor meinem Angesicht zu speien.

They abhor me, they flee far from me, and spare not to spit in my face.

Und es wird nicht hineingehen irgend ein Gemeines und das da Greuel tut und Lüge, sondern die geschrieben sind in dem Lebensbuch des Lammes.

And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life.

Und ich brachte euch in ein gutes Land, daß ihr äßet seine Früchte und Güter. Und da ihr hineinkamt, verunreinigtet ihr mein Land und machtet mir mein Erbe zum Greuel.

And I brought you into a plentiful country, to eat the fruit thereof and the goodness thereof; but when ye entered, ye defiled my land, and made mine heritage an abomination.

Denn welche diese Greuel tun, deren Seelen sollen ausgerottet werden von ihrem Volk.

For whosoever shall commit any of these abominations, even the souls that commit them shall be cut off from among their people.

Alle meine Getreuen haben einen Greuel an mir; und die ich liebhatte, haben sich auch gegen mich gekehrt.

All my inward friends abhorred me: and they whom I loved are turned against me.
