Herr Präsident, es ist für mich eine große Freude, zum Ende dieser Legislaturperiode sprechen zu können, die die Atmosphäre eines Studienabschlusses annimmt, wenn die Studenten das Hochschulstudium beenden und sich freundlich voneinander verabschieden, einige Kommilitonen und einige Professoren grüßen, und alles ist Herzlichkeit.

Mr President, I am very pleased to be able to speak at the end of our term of office, which is beginning to seem like the end of the academic year, when students finish their university classes and pleasantly say goodbye to each other, remembering certain students and teachers, and there is a generally friendly atmosphere.

Das Vereinigte Koenigreich hat den Ausbildungsgang fuer medizinisch-wissenschaftliche Laboranten ( _DOUBLEQUOTE_ medical laboratory scientific officer _DOUBLEQUOTE_ ) dahin gehend geaendert , dass nunmehr ein dreijaehriges Hochschulstudium erforderlich ist und der Abschluss damit unter die Richtlinie 89 / 48 / EWG des Rates ( 3 ) faellt . Der zu dem Beruf des medizinisch-wissenschaftlichen Laboranten fuehrende Ausbildungsgang ist demnach aus Anhang C zu streichen , da die Inhaber von Befaehigungsnachweisen , die als solche unter die Richtlinie 92 / 51 / EWG fallen wuerden , die in Artikel 1 Buchstabe a ) der Richtlinie 89 / 48 / EWG vorgesehene Gleichstellung ihrer Ausbildungsabschluesse in Anspruch nehmen koennen .

Whereas the United Kingdom has altered its education and training course for medical laboratory scientific officer , with the result that this course now requires three years of higher education and thus comes under Council Directive 89 / 48 / EEC ( 3 ) ; whereas , accordingly , the course of education and training for the profession of medical laboratory scientific officer should no longer be included in Annex C since holders of qualifications obtained under the former regulation and which are covered by Directive 92 / 51 / EEC could , by virtue of Article 1 ( a ) of Directive 89 / 48 / EEC , apply to be treated in the same way ;
