Klagelied

Wir wollen nicht immer nur ein Klagelied singen.

We would like to suggest appropriate action to remedy these failures concerning implementation.

Höret, ihr vom Hause Israel, dies Wort! denn ich muß dies Klagelied über euch machen:

Hear ye this word which I take up against you, even a lamentation, O house of Israel.

Es soll zwar hier nicht das übliche Klagelied über den armen Kubaner angestimmt werden, doch müssen die Interventionsmaßnahmen des Europäischen Parlaments meines Erachtens in diesem Sinne erfolgen, auch unter wirtschaftlichem Gesichtspunkt: die europäischen Unternehmen, von denen beabsichtigt wird, wirtschaftliche Tätigkeiten auf der Insel aufzunehmen, müssen zwar verteidigt werden, doch muß das prioritäre Ziel darin bestehen, daß diesem Volk geholfen wird, einen Ausweg aus einer Situation zu finden, die von ihm zum Teil mitverschuldet wurde, bei der es jedoch vor allem das Opfer ist.

This is not the time for the old lamentation about the poor Cuban, but this is the spirit in which, in my opinion, the European Parliament should intervene, including from the economic angle: we should indeed defend European enterprises seeking to stimulate activity on the island, but first and foremost so as to help the people of Cuba to recover from a situation of which they are partly the cause but above all the victims.

The Psalm can be broken down accordingly as follows: [7]
 1.Vers 1-4: Announcement of the prophetic certainty
 2.Vers 5-8: Dirge of the community given of the suffering of the current situation
 3.Vers 9-14: Answer a divine Oracle

Wir können nur in dieses Klagelied miteinstimmen.

We can only underwrite this complaint.

Die Koordination des Projektes liegt mittlerweile in den Händen des ICBP (International Council for Bird Preservation) und genießt dort höchste Priorität. Wenn es gelingt, im internationalen Verbund Mittel aufzubringen, wie sie z.B, für das Schutzprojekt „Kaiseramazone“ bereits zur Verfügung stehen, hat der Naturschutz eine reelle Chance. Sollte dies nicht gelingen, bleibt nur noch übrig, das Klagelied über Kuba-Ara, Karolina-Sittich, Paradiessittich um eine Strophe zu ergänzen.

If finding the means in this international grouping is successful as, for example, in the case of the Imperial Amazon conservation project, then conservation has a real chance. Should this not succeed, it will then be necessary to add a verse to the lament on the Cuban Macaw, Carolina Parakeet and Paradise Parrot.

Da wird dann eine politische Antwort erwartet, wobei nicht lediglich in das Klagelied Al Gores eingestimmt werden sollte, sondern auch erste Lösungsvorschläge unterbreitet werden müssen.

That is when a political answer is expected. We should not simply cry in Al Gore's arms, but also start looking for a solution.
