Die scheinbar redundante Bezeichnung der Bibliothek soll aufzeigen, dass die Landesbibliothek sowohl die Staatsbibliothek des Freistaates Sachsen als auch Universitätsbibliothek der TU Dresden ist.

It is both the regional library () for the German State of Saxony as well as the academic library for the Dresden University of Technology ().

(3) Kommt der Benutzer der Rückstellungspflicht nicht nach, mahnt die Landesbibliothek unter Angabe der Mahngebühren die Rückgabe schriftlich ein. Bei Nichtbeachtung erfolgen weitere Mahnungen.

(3) If the user does not return the borrowed items the Library sends out a written overdue notice asking the return of the concerned items and stating the overdue fee. If the reminder is ignored the Library will send out further notices.

(4) Die Mahnfristen, die Höhe der Mahngebühren sowie damit zusammenhängende temporäre Ausleihverbote sind der Gebührenordnung der Landesbibliothek zu entnehmen.

(4) The periods of time after which an overdue notice or reminder is sent out, the amount of the overdue fees and the following temporary suspension of borrowing privileges are stated in the Library's Fees Regulation.

Dabei stehen ihnen Bücher, Zeitungen und Zeitschriften, elektronische Bibliothekskataloge sowie Datenbanken zur Verfügung. Sie lernen die Recherchemöglichkeiten in der Landesbibliothek kennen und wenden unterschiedliche Suchstrategien an. Anhand ausgesuchter Übungsbeispiele setzen sie das Gelernte praktisch um.

To do so, they have at their disposal books, newspapers and periodicals, electronic library catalogues and databases. In this way, they become acquainted with the research opportunities of the Dr. Friedrich Teßmann Library and make use of different search strategies. Thanks to chosen sample exercises, they put into practice what they have learnt.
