Ich glaube nicht dass chinesisch irgendwann eine lingua franca sein wird. Chinesisch ist nicht wie Englisch. Das Land China besteht aus 50 unterschiedlichen Ethnien mit ständiger Tendenz zur Separation. Spanish wird sicher zu einer lingua franca. In den USA sehen wir bereits jetzt eine Verschiebung in die Richtung. Die Volksgruppe der Latinos wächst überproportional zu den anderen Volksgruppen. Dann werden wahrscheinlich ausser Canada und Brazilien alle Länder des amerikanischen Kontinentes Spanisch sprechen.

I do not believe that Chinese eventually will be a lingua franca. Chinese is not like English. China, the country consists of 50 different ethnic groups with constant tendency to separate.
