Die 10-, 20- und 50-Cent-Münzen tragen das Wappen von Malta, einen Schild mit einer heraldischen Abbildung der maltesischen Flagge unter einer Mauerkrone, die für die Befestigungsanlagen Maltas und den Stadtstaat steht.

The 10, 20 and 50-cent coins bear the Emblem of Malta, a shield displaying a heraldic representation of the Maltese national flag and supporting a mural crown that represents the fortifications of Malta and denotes a city state.

Durch die trapezförmig ausgebildeten seitlichen Gittermatten 7 wird erreicht, daß die mauerartige Böschungssicherung die gewünschte schräge Mauerkrone aufweist.
