Die quantitative Auswertung der Massenchromatogramme erfolgt über die Peakflächen der relativen Intensitäten der Molekülionen oder über die Peakflächen der relativen Intensitäten charakterisitscher Fragmente von Analyt und Standard, die bei der chemischen Ionisation entstehen. Durch die Analyse im CI-mode werden neben der hohen Genauigkeit auch eine hohe Selektivität und eine niedrige Bestimmungsgrenze der Methode erreicht. Zur Berechnung der Analytmenge in der Probe wird das Peakflächenverhältnis von Analyt zu Standard in Bezug zur Menge an zugesetztem Standard und zur Probeneinwaage gesetzt.
