Der umfangreichste aber am wenigsten bekannte Werkteil in Goldsteins Oeuvre sind die Gemälde.

The most comprehensive but least known part in Goldstein's oeuvre are his paintings.

Sein kompositorisches Oeuvre umfasst vielerlei Genres, vom Solostück (z.B. "Geblendete Schatten" für Klavier; "Metro" für Viola solo) über Kammermusik (z.B. "Goldrush-Moneyrush" für 2 Klaviere; "Verstrickung" für Ob., VI. und präpar. Klavier, "Fit" für Bläserquintett) bis zu Solokonzerten (z.B. Trompetenkonzert, "Secret doors" für 2 Fagotte und Orchester) und Werken für Symphonieorchester ("Fiasko", "3 Pictures"), ferner auch die Raumkomposition "O" (Marstalltheater München), Filmmusik, eine Sammlung von Klaviermusik für Kinder wie auch ein Musiktheater-Projekt, das in Kürze fertig stellt wird. "Von besonderer Bedeutung ist für mich die Auseinandersetzung mit der Alltagswelt, mit dem gegenwärtig mich Umgebenden, den zufälligen Eindrücken und Begegnungen. Aus dem Fluß innerer Klangvorstellungen, der sich aus meinen Synästhesien speist, kristallisieren sich manchmal besondere Momente, die sich mir als Urideen oder poetische Chiffren einer eigenen Ausdruckswelt einprägen.

His compositional oeuvre spans many genres, from solo pieces (e.g. “Geblendete Schatten” for piano; “metro” for a solo viola), chamber music (e.g. “Goldrush-Moneyrush” for 2 pianos; “Verstrickung” for oboe, violin and prepared piano; “Fit” for a wind quintet), to solo concertos (e.g. trumpet concerto; “Secret doors” for 2 bassoons and an orchestra) and works for symphony orchestras (“Fiasko”, “3 Pictures”). This list includes the spatial composition “O” (Marstalltheater Munich), film music, a collection of piano music for children, and a music theater project that is nearing completion. “What is particularly important to me in my work is the everyday world, what is around me, chance impressions and meetings. The flow of inner sound images fed by my synaesthesia sometimes crystallizes in special moments that come to me as seeds of an idea or poetic manifestations of my own world of expression.

"La beaute retrouvée" ist ein Stück in memoriam des Schweizer Komponisten Peter Mieg: Der Titel knüpft bei Marcel Proust an, dessen Roman "A la recherche du temps perdu" den für Mieg wichtigsten literarischen Einfluss darstellte. In abgewandelter Form spielt der Titel des Klavierstücks auf diesen Romantitel an und verweist gleichzeitig auf das spezifische Musikideal, zu dem sich Mieg in seinem kompositorischen Oeuvre verpflichtet fühlte.

'La beaute retrouvée' is a piece in memory of the Swiss composer Peter Mieg: The title ties in with Marcel Proust whose novel 'A la recherche du temps perdu' provided Mieg with his most important literary influence. In a modified form, the titel of this piano piece plays with the title of the novel and also makes reference to the specific musical ideal, which Mieg felt himself commited to in the creation of his compositional oeuvre.
