Ich hatte vorher noch nie die Gelegenheit -was ich bedauere -, eine Opernaufführung live zu erleben.Die Vorstellung war so schön, dass es meines Erachtens richtig ist, ganz Europa an diesen Werken der Kultur teilhaben zu lassen.

It was, I am sad to say, the first time I had ever seen an opera live, and it was so beautiful that I feel it is right to make it possible for the whole of Europe to enjoy these cultural products.
