Zudem wollten die USA weltweit stärker für ihre Kultur und ihr Kunsthandwerk werben sowie sich als attraktive Tourismus-Destination profilieren. Als neue Form des Kulturimperialismus sollte dies jedoch nicht verstanden werde, sagte Marete Wester, Politische Referentin der einflussreichen Lobbyorganisation „Americans for the Arts“ im anschießenden Podiumsgespräch.

However, this is not to be understood as new form of culture imperialism, says Marete Wester, political referee of the influential lobby organization „Americans for the Arts“.
