Antonius wollte nämlich das blutig durchstochene Leichnam Caesars dem Volke sehen lassen. Die Leiche Caesars war aufgebahrt in einem Miniaturanfertigung des Venustemples. So auf der Rednerbühne liegend, war es aber vom Volk nicht sichtbar.

For Antonius wanted to show the bloody pierced body of Caesar to the people. Caesar’s body was laid out in a miniature model of the temple of Venus. Lying on the rostra in this way it was not visible for the people.
