In den Seitenkapellen im Querschiff des Klosters befinden sich die kunstvoll bildhauerisch gestalteten Gräber von Prinz D. Pedro I. und seiner vom Unglück verfolgten Geliebten D. Inês de Castro. Das Querschiff bietet außerdem Zugang zu den Gräbern von König D. Afonso II., König D. Afonso III. und ihren Ehefrauen und Kindern. Weiterhin gehören das „Kapitelhaus“, der „Mönchsraum“ und eine Küche und ein Refektorium aus dem 18. Jahrhundert zu dem Kloster. Diese Teile des Klosters liegen um den Kreuzgang herum.

The transept also provides access to the tombs of King D. Afonso II, King D. Afonso III, their spouses and children. Other parts of the monastery that are located around the cloister include the ‘Chapter House’, the ‘Monks Room’ and an 18th Century kitchen and refectory.

Im Refektorium neben der nord-westlichen Säule ist eine seltene Ikone der Gottesmutter „Nikejskaja“ (Ende des XVII. Jhs., wurde in Russland „Dein Leib Heilige Mahlzeit“ (rus. „Bystj Tschrewo Twojo Swjataja Trapesa“) genannt, wie der Anfangstext des Liedes vor dem Nikejsky Heilbild).

In the refectory at the north-western column there is the rare icon of the Mother of God of Nicaea (the end of the 17th century, called in Russia “Your Womb Became a Heavenly Table, Bearing the Heavenly Bread” under the first words of the motet in front of the icon of Nicaea).

Dort und im Refektorium ist das feine hellsandsteinerne Gesims erhalten.

On the chancel and refectory the thin white-stone cornice survived.

Im Refektorium sind 30 hufförmige Marmortische aufgestellt, die der Überlie-ferung nach aus dem berühmten Studion Kloster in Konstan-tinopel stammen sollen.

The refectory contains 30 horseshoe-shaped marble tables, which, according to tradition, come from the famous Studium Monastery in Constantinople.
