Man mag das Ganze als Schrulle zweier Fundamentalisten abtun – im Rahmen des Nahostkonflikts und des Ringens zwischen Israel und den Palästinensern um die Kontrolle über den Tempelberg politisch zwar gefährlich (ein Kolumnist der israelischen Tageszeitung Haaretz bezeichnete die Red Heifer überspitzt als ªfour-legged bomb´), doch ohne jede weitere Bedeutung für unsere Gegenwart in einer doch als überwiegend säkular erachteten Gesellschaft. Die konkreten Maßnahmen zur Umsetzung des Zuchtprojekts belehren uns jedoch eines Besseren.*
