Näht die Falten, nämlich, jene die von der Taille bis zum Saum gehen; näht die Vorderteile am Rückenteil fest; die Keile, die Unterseiten der Ärmel, den Kragen, die Schulterstücke an die beiden Enden des Kragens; näht die beiden Stücke an, die die Länge des Ärmels vervollständigen; so sie en pagode sind (a a fig. 12), sind diese beiden Stücke länger: Die Falten der Pagode müssen so gelegt werden, daß sie auf der Unterseite der Arme schmaler sind; das gibt ihnen die Wendung, wie man sie in fig. 12 sieht, welche das fertiggestellte M.d.L. darstellt.

289. Sew the pleats, viz., those running from the waist to the seam; sew the fronts to the back part; the gussets, the undersides of the sleeves, the collar, the shoulder parts to the ends of the collar; sew on the two pieces that complete the sleeves; if the sleeves are en pagode (a fig. 12), those two pieces are longer: The pleats must be made narower on the underside of the arm; this creates the curve seen in fig. 12 which shows the finished gown.
