Enhancer sind bekannt für ihre Rolle bei der Aktivierung der Transkription von Zielgenen aus der Ferne bekannt und während der Entwicklung der Tiere, sie in einer Zeit-und Gewebe-abhängigen Weg1 handeln. Es wird auch zunehmend deutlich, dass Variationen in diesen genomischen Sequenzen für die menschliche Krankheit beitragen, sowie die Entwicklung der human-spezifischen traits2, und dass sie als sehr häufig in den Säuger-genome3.

Enhancers are well known for its role in activating the transcription of target genes from a distance and during the development of the animals, they act in a time-and tissue-dependent Weg1. It is also increasingly clear that variations in these genomic sequences contribute to human disease, and the development of human-specific traits2, and they very often in the mammalian genome3.
