It appears as a messianic sign – but for what age? Cowboy boots, banker’s suit and laboratory coat destroy the romantic illusion of the faraway Middle Ages. The Heifer is more than a long-buried myth. It is the suppressed shadow of an image of a contemporary god, the mirror of a citizen of our time: the allegory of man elevated into creator god.
