During his time as artist-in-residence at the school he made a mural for the UNESCO headquarters in Paris.

Für das königliche Schloss in Dresden bekam Bendemann den Auftrag, drei Säle (Thronsaal, Turmsaal, Turmzimmer) auszuschmücken; er tat dies mit einem zusammenhängenden Wandgemälde.

He was commissioned to decorate three halls of the Dresden royal palace with wall paintings: the throne room, the tower room, and the tower hall.
