Das Wildschutzgebiet Phu Wua liegt im Landkreis.

Die offizielle Politik des Landes gibt uns schwer zu denken. Die offizielle Parole heisst „Kilimo kwanza“ (Landwirtschaft zuerst). Ausser Worten sehen wir aber nichts. Ausserdem ist unser Kilomberotal zusammen mit zwei anderen Regionen ausgewählt als Kornkammer des Landes, das heisst die Landwirtschaft wird noch mehr betont. In unserer Gegen wurde auch 5000 Ha Land ausgeschieden für neue Investoren in der Landwirtschaft, ein Haus wurde gebaut und das Land vermessen. Nun kamen vor einem Monat Leute von der Regierung und haben einen Strich, eine Grenze durch unsere Gegend gezogen. Sie erklärten, alles auf der Flusseite sei jetzt neu Wildschutzgebiet, es dürfe nicht mehr geackert werden. Gut die Hälfte von ganz Ngalimila ist somit ausgeschieden, auch diese 5000 Ha für Investoren sind zur Hälfte im Schutzgebiet und unser Feld am Fluss ist ganz davon betroffen.

Der Krüger-Nationalpark ist das größte Wildschutzgebiet Südafrikas. Er liegt im Nordosten des Landes im Lowveld in den Provinzen Mpumalanga und Limpopo. Er erstreckt sich vom Crocodile-River im Süden bis zum Limpopo, dem Grenzfluss zu Mosambik, im Norden. Die Nord-Süd-Ausdehnung beträgt etwa 350 km, in Ost-West-Richtung ist der Park durchschnittlich 54 km breit und umfasst eine Fläche von rund 20.000 Quadratkilometern. Damit gehört er zu den größten Nationalparks in Afrika. Das Schutzgebiet wurde am 26. März 1898 unter dem Präsidenten Paul Kruger gegründet. 1926 erhielt das Gebiet den Status Nationalpark und wurde in seinen heutigen Namen umbenannt. Im Park leben 147 Säugetierarten inklusive der „Big Five“, außerdem etwa 507 Vogelarten und 114 Reptilienarten, 49 Fischarten und 34 Amphibienarten.

The Kruger National Park is the largest game reserve in South Africa. It is located in the northeast of the country in the Lowveld of Mpumalanga and Limpopo provinces. It stretches by the Crocodile River in the South to the Limpopo River to Mozambique, in the North. The North-South extent is about 350 km, the Park is on average 54 km wide from East to West and covers an area of 20,000 square kilometers. Thus, it is the largest national park in Africa.
 
 The sanctuary was founded on 26 March 1898 under President Paul Kruger. in 1926, received the area national park status and was renamed to its current name. 147 Species of mammals, including the 'big five', also about 507 birds and 114 species of reptiles, 49 fish species and 34 species of amphibians live in the Park.
