Vorzugsweise ist eine Einstellung eines Fernsprechnetzmodus mit der Fernsprechsignalisierung und der 'analogen' Informationsübermittlung und eine Einstellung eines ISDN-Netzmodus mit der ISDN-Signalisierung und der 'digitalen' Informationsübermittlung vorgesehen - Anspruch 10. Die Einstellung wird von der zentralen Rechnereinrichtung initialisiert und durch das Mikroprozessorsystem in dem Fernübertragungsmodul bewirkt. Hierbei wird der Informationsfluß innerhalb des Fernübertragungsmoduls bei einer Fernsprechnetzeinstellung über die SICOFI-Einheit und die Modemeinheit und bei der ISDN-Netzeinstellung vom Zugriffsspeicher bzw. der Peripheriesteuerung direkt zur Peripheriesteuerung bzw. zum Zugriffsspeicher gesteuert. Für die Steuerung der Modemeinheit - d.h. Steuerung der Modemeinheit z.B. in einen Sende- oder Empfangsmodus - sind vorzugsweise Protokolle vorgesehen, bei den die Steuerinformationen innerhalb des Informationsstromes übermittelt wird.
