Herr Präsident, ich möchte einleitend sagen, dass Katalonien, meine Heimat, zusammen mit Aragón, Roussillon und den angrenzenden Territorien noch immer unter dem fehlenden Willen oder Übelwollen der spanischen und französischen Regierung und der anderen zuständigen Stellen leiden, wenn es um die Entwicklung der Infrastrukturen geht, damit die Pyrenäengrenze wirklich beseitigt wird.

The consequences of these irresponsible policies will inevitably lead to the loss of our national identities, to the ethnic communitarisation of European societies and to the loss of national unity, which guarantees civil peace. We do know, however, most fortunately, that this colonisation of Europe will not take place without the citizens reacting to it in a legitimate, sound and healthy way.

Herr Präsident, ich möchte einleitend sagen, wie wohltuend es ist, wenn ein Minister zugibt, auch nicht mehr über eine bestimmte Situation zu wissen als wir.

Mr President, I have to say by way of prologue how refreshing it is to hear a government minister admit he does not know any more about a situation than we do.
