Der Essigsäure/Acetat-Gehalt der aufkonzentrierten wäßrigen Malachitgrün-Lösung (pH 2,6) betrug 2,0 Gew.-%; im Gasraum des Farbstoffbehälters wurden bei 25 °C 4,3 mg Essigsäure je m (entsprechend 0,4 mg Kohlenstoff/m bei 0 °C) gefunden.

The acetic acid/acetate content of the concentrated aqueous malachite green solution (pH 2.6) was 2.0% by weight; the gas space of the dye container was found to contain 4.3 mg of acetic acid per m3 at 25° C. (corresponding to 0.4 mg of carbon/m3 at 0° C.).

Ferner ist bei äußerlicher Anwendung eine Überdosierung zu vermeiden, da Kristallviolett, ebenso wie die verwandten und ähnlich verwendeten Triphenylmethanfarbstoffe Malachitgrün und Brillantgrün, zelltoxisch auf die Haut wirkt.
