Können wir also sozusagen eine eigenständige, originäre politische Ordnung aufstellen?

Can we, so to speak, create an independent and original political system?

Dort heißt es, dass die Bevölkerung ungerechte Herrscher – gemeint war unter anderem der englische König – absetzen und sich selbst eine politische Ordnung geben dürfe. Während absolutistische Machthaber im Europa des 18. Jahrhunderts die Menschen immer noch gewaltsam unterdrückten, sicherte die amerikanische Verfassung den Menschen unveräußerliche Grundrechte und insbesondere das Recht auf Widerstand gegen die Regierung zu. Nur so könne eines der elementarsten Rechte des Menschen gewährleistet werden: das Streben nach Glück (engl. pursuit of happiness).

Abgesehen davon, dass er eine inakzeptable Einmischung in die konstitutionelle Organisation der Mitgliedstaaten darstellt, schimmert der Zweck dieses Berichts überall durch: es geht wie immer darum, die Nationen zu zerstören, indem man die innere politische Ordnung der Staaten untergräbt, um das föderale Europa zu errichten.

Und dieses Verantwortungsgefühl allen gegenüber wird nur bedingt durch die Auflage für die Kandidaten, die in Kopenhagen formulierten politischen Kriterien zu erfüllen, also stabile politische Ordnung, Einhaltung der Menschenrechte und Minderheitenschutz.
