Die gegrillten Paprikaschoten werden ganz oder in Stücken konserviert. Ihre Farbe reicht von hell-bis dunkelrot und ihre Oberfläche kann etwas rissig sein. Wegen des Kohlenhydratanteils von unter 5% ist der Primärgeschmack leicht bitter. Der Nachgeschmack ist mittel bis schwach ausgeprägt und wenig scharf. Das Erzeugnis riecht typisch nach gegrilltem Paprika und Rauch. Die Fruchtfleischfestigkeit ist wegen des geringen Gehalts an Faserstoffen (weniger als 3%) gering. Je 100 g Paprika sind bis 1,5 cm2 verbrannte Rückstände und bis zu zehn Samenkörner zulässig.

Their predominant flavour is marked by a slight pungency due to a carbohydrate content of less than 5%. After-taste is mild and only slightly peppery.
