Geplant sind Einladungen an Vertreter von Angola, Botswana, Burundi, Zentralafrikanische Republik, Komoren, Kongo, Demokratische Republik Kongo, Eritrea, Äthiopien, Madagaskar, Malawi, Moçambique, Namibia, Ruanda, Somalia, Swasiland, Sambia und Simbabwe.

In 2001, exporters from sub-Saharan African countries lost USD 302 million, of which two-thirds or EUR 191 million came from the West African countries of Benin, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, the Central African Republic, Chad, Côte d'Ivoire, Mali and Togo.

Im Zusammenhang mit der WTO bin ich in dem genannten Zeitungsartikel kurz vor dem WTO-Treffen so weit gegangen, zu sagen, dass es anstatt eines bindenden Abkommen, an das niemand glaubt, besser sei, gar kein Abkommen zu haben, sich aber die Zeit zu nehmen, offen miteinander zu reden.
