My first assignment was in Mazar-e-Sharif (Afganistan) I stayed there for 6 months.

Madam President, Commissioner, when, last month, I accompanied the delegation led by my fellow Member and friend Mr Salafranca, it was the fifth time in five years that I was returning to this territory, where I have not only visited the capital, but also travelled through most of the country, from the Panjshir valley in the north, to Kandahar, the capital of the Pashtun south, via Herat, Mazar-e Sharif and Bamiyan, the site of the giant Buddhas that fell victim in 2001 to the barbaric stupidity of the Taliban.

Unter diesen Umständen ist es zwar bedauerlich, aber wohl auch unvermeidlich, dass bei diesen ersten Wahlen nach dem Krieg Personen einen Sitz im Parlament erhalten, die alles andere als vertrauenswürdig sind.

Should resources be available, the Bundeswehr may provide transportation aboard Bundeswehr aircraft (Cologne – Mazar-e-Sharif). There is no entitlement for the Contractor to be transported aboard Bundeswehr aircraft.

Sollte die Ressourcen zur Verfügung, die Bundeswehr Transport an Bord von Flugzeugen der Bundeswehr (Köln – Mazar-e-Sharif) vorsehen. Es besteht kein Anspruch für den Auftragnehmer an Bord von Flugzeugen der Bundeswehr transportiert werden.
