At the start and at the end of the three-week application, the anterior section of the eye was inspected using a HAAG-Streit slit lamp microscope, type 900 BQ, with 10 times magnification, or 16 times magnification if there where any abnormalities. The following parameters were tested: 1) Consistency of the skin and its appendages 2) Consistency of the palpebral and bulbar conjunctiva 3) Consistency of the cornea The appendix contains an evaluation of the questionnaires.
