Thanks to the industrial development of the North-eastern part of South Africa in the 1960s, the Nasionale Pers could establish the Sunday paper 'Die Beeld' (today: Rapport). Further publishing houses were added to the Nasionale Pers portfolio (Via Afrika, Human & Rousseau) as well as book clubs (Leserskring; Leisure Hour, 1982)
