corruptible

hat is to say, the fire as the most pure element, having in it nothing that is corruptible, in his place is highest and above other element. The air, which next to the fire, is most pure in substance, is in the second sphere or place. The water, which is somewhat consolidate and approacheth to corruption, is next unto the earth. The earth, which is of substance gross and ponderous, is set of all elements most lowest.

Hut ist zu sagen, das Feuer als das reine Element, mit in ihr nichts, was vergänglich ist, an seiner Stelle am höchsten ist und über ein anderes Element. Die Luft, die neben dem Feuer, die meisten reinen Substanz ist in der zweiten Sphäre oder Ort. Das Wasser, das etwas konsolidieren und naht der Korruption ist, neben auf die Erde. Die Erde, die der Substanz grober und schwerfällig ist, wird von allen Elementen am niedrigsten gesetzt.

For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.

Denn dies Verwesliche muß anziehen die Unverweslichkeit, und dies Sterbliche muß anziehen die Unsterblichkeit.

So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.

Wenn aber das Verwesliche wird anziehen die Unverweslichkeit, und dies Sterbliche wird anziehen die Unsterblichkeit, dann wird erfüllt werden das Wort, das geschrieben steht:
