That inflation persistence has been moderate in the euro area during the last decade or so is also documented in the conclusions of the Eurosystem Inflation Persistence Network (see ECB (2005).13 An important explanatory factor is the anchoring of low inflation expectations of economic agents. However, the link to the convergence process leading to monetary union is – as pointed out by the authors – weakened by the fact that a similar degree of inflation persistence is found at a more global scale and in areas of the world (e.g. the US) that have experienced no currency reforms in recent years.

Das Inflationspersistenz wurde in der Eurozone moderat oder während des letzten Jahrzehnts so ist auch dokumentiert in den Schlussfolgerungen des Eurosystem Inflation Persistence Network (siehe EZB (2005) 0,13 Ein wichtiger erklärender Faktor ist die Verankerung der niedrigen Inflationserwartungen der Wirtschaftsakteure . Allerdings ist der Link zu der Konvergenz Prozess zur Währungsunion - wie von den Autoren - geschwächt durch die Tatsache, dass ein ähnlicher Grad der Persistenz der Inflation in einem globalen Maßstab und in Gebieten der Welt gefunden wird (z. B. in den USA ), dass bisher keine Währungsreform in den letzten Jahren erlebt.
