Aggressive chemische Dermabrasionen und Hautlaserbehandlung sollten bei Patienten unter Behandlung mit Isotretinoin und bis 5-6 Monate nach Therapieende vermieden werden, da ein Risiko von hypertrophen Narben in atypischen Regionen und seltener von postinflammatorischer Hyper-oder Hypopigmentation

Besondere Aufmerksamkeit ist bei Patienten mit einer Depression in der Anamnese nötig und alle Patienten müssen auf Anzeichen einer Depression überwacht und wenn nötig einer angemessenen Behandlung zugeführt werden.
