Identify the Red/Yellow lead at the ECU. Normally this lead is not connected to anything. However, when timing an engine equipped with EFI, this r/Y lead must be grounded to the engine block. Failure to ground this nlead will produce a retarded timing adjustment. After the timing procedure has been completed this lead must be disconnected and the lead protected to prevent accidental contact on the engine block.
