Tanja studied Food Chemistry in Karlsruhe with focus on Biochemistry, Toxicology and Analytics and obtained a graduation as Food Chemist. An additional apprenticeship as “State Certified Food Chemist” at the Chemical and Veterinary Investigation Office in Karlsruhe and an internship in quality control with focus on risk assessment completed her education.

Tanja studierte Lebensmittelchemie in Karlsruhe mit Schwerpunkt Biochemie, Toxikologie und Analytics und erhielt einen Abschluss als Lebensmittelchemiker. Eine zusätzliche Ausbildung zum "Staatlich geprüfte Lebensmittelchemiker" am Chemischen und Veterinäruntersuchungsamt in Karlsruhe und ein Praktikum in der Qualitätskontrolle mit Fokus auf die Risikobewertung absolvierte ihre Ausbildung.

LEFT OVER ONIONS ARE POISONOUS I had the wonderful privilege of touring Mullins Food Products, Makers of mayonnaise. Questions about food poisoning came up, and I wanted to share what I learned from a chemist. Ed, who was our tour guide, is a food chemistry whiz. During the tour, someone asked if we really needed to worry about mayonnaise. People are always worried that mayonnaise will spoil. Ed's answer will surprise you. Ed said that all commercially-made mayo is completely safe.
