In recognition of this there is to be a presentation of the Linz 2009 undertaking, the present state of planning and a precis of some of the actual projects in Brussels. Office holders with a background in city, state, federal and EU politics will be taking part, including Linz’s Deputy Mayor, Dr. Erich Watzl, and Upper Austria's governor, Dr. Josef Pühringer. Guests of honour will be the Federal Minister for Education, Culture and the Arts, Dr. Claudia Schmied, and the Commissioner responsible for External Relations and European Neighbourhood Policy, Dr. Benita Ferrero-Waldner.

PolitikerInnen aus Stadt-, Landes-, Bundes- und EU-Ebene werden die Präsentation begleiten: neben dem Linzer Vizebürgermeister Dr. Erich Watzl und dem Landeshauptmann Dr. Josef Pühringer werden auch die Bundesministerin für Unterricht, Kunst und Kultur, Dr. Claudia Schmied, und die Kommisarin für Außenpolitik und europäische Nachbarschaftspolitik, Dr. Benita Ferrero-Waldner, Ehrengäste sein.
