In January, we listened to many speeches about the role of the Union in the international scene, but it is a disgrace to see how weakly and indecisively the Union has acted up till now.

Im Januar verfolgten wir zahlreiche Redebeiträge über die Rolle der Union auf der internationalen Bühne, aber es ist beschämend, wie schwach und unentschieden die Union bis jetzt aufgetreten ist.

So when the Commission is criticized for acting indecisively, this could stem from the fact that, in many cases, it is simply too remote from the real problems to be able to take swift and effective action.

Wenn also die Europäische Kommission dafür kritisiert wird, zu unentschlossen aufzutreten, so mag das auch an der Tatsache liegen, daß sie einfach oft zu weit entfernt ist von den wirklichen Problemen, um rasch und effizient eingreifen zu können.
