it loops

I have installed AHCI. I can see that it is installed. In Hardware Manager I see: "ATA Channels 0-5" and " Standard AHCI 1.0 SATA Controller". The 2 equipment(s) which worked on other, older computers do not work now in eSATA mode. I also very often use Windows XP Pro SP3. Here I can not install AHCI at all ! It is very, very frustrating. I see that in the new installation, after F6 " AHCIx86.sys" is being read from the floppy (created with "make disk" from the ASUS DVD), BUT when the installation is finished with ALL the drivers loaded, changed to AHCI in BIOS, the system will NOT load. It loops at the start to BIOS setup.
